2 Mt. Vernon School District Students receive $10,000.00 Sponsorships

Mount Vernon — Congressman Eliot Engel, along with program sponsors, visits Mount Vernon students at the Northeast STEM Starter Academy (NSSA), Saturday, June 3rd to award two $10,000.00 Sponsorships and recognize sponsors. The two Mount Vernon students who received $10,000.00 Sponsorships were Julian Orozco and Victoria Gomez-Smalls.

NSSA provides at-risk children attending public schools in Mount Vernon with an extracurricular STEM education enabling them to experience, explore and personalize the resulting discoveries. The Award Event will extend two $10,000.00 sponsorship awards to the two students that achieved the highest scores on their test and essay following completion of the 6-week STEM Enhanced Learning Program for 10th & 11th graders.
